Identify and group members by profession—doctors, bankers, engineers, social workers, and more.
Growth Group Systems
Seventeen months of weekly meetings, corporate prayer, bibliophile semesters, and social impact—documented from the first gatherings in February 2024 to today.
“The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”
Our purpose
The system is designed to disciple professionals, take society's mountains, and keep the harvest through small groups, prayer, and service.
Identify and group members by profession—doctors, bankers, engineers, social workers, and more.
Take the mountains of society: media & entertainment, politics & government, family, and beyond.
Help members grow in anointing, healing, church planting, missions, and their priestly calling.
Foster unity, bonding, and cohesion among brethren across branches and groups.
Encourage small-group systems and strengthen consolidation in every community.
Create effective opportunities for the G-12 discipleship structure to flourish.
Reduce the gap between chapter pastors and members through consistent fellowship.
Amplify sector-specific social projects and retain the harvest from outreach across the city.
In the beginning
Growth Group Systems was formally launched in December 2023 by Dr. Jesam Oboma. First meetings followed on Sunday, 10 February 2024.
A launch newsletter carried the vision, recommended books, and proposed names for the first Growth Groups.
Each semester runs 17–18 weeks (~4 months), followed by a two-month break. The second semester runs August through December.

Stories from the movement
Groups span entertainment, marriage, politics, marketplace, children, innovation, sisterhood, bankers, lawyers, traders, entrepreneurs, and more—each meeting weekly with clear reporting.
Managers submit Growth Group reports using a shared template. The Monitoring & Evaluation team collates submissions and publishes a comprehensive weekly summary—meetings, attendance, MVPs, and study materials included.
Corporate prayer powers the Growth Group Systems. Prayer champions have emerged, the altar stays aflame, and groups also organise independent weekly prayer for at least an hour.
In semester 2 of 2025, all 93 groups read Laws of Proper Speech by Dr. David Ogbueli. Over 1,100 people across six states reviewed the book chapter by chapter for seventeen weeks. Innovation Growth Group donated copies to Afokang Correctional Centre during a social impact visit.
Every semester, groups give back through visits to Afokang Correctional Centre, motherless babies homes, church renovations, pad and back-to-school donations, love crusades feeding 800+, market fairs, tech conferences, and medical outreaches.
A full week is dedicated to eating, drinking, and creating memories as semesters close. The vision: make it the largest Christian celebration in Nigeria.
At the close of each semester, a special Sunday honours Growth Group supervisors and managers for excellence, leadership, and growth. Four award services have been held to date.
